I want to start off by saying that I realize that this could be technically considered in the wrong category on the forums but I did this deliberately in the public forum so that when you received my stumble you would not have to log in just to see it.

That aside, Most of you should have received some kind of correspondence from me about the House Warming party I am having on March 27th. For most of you I should have sent you an E-mail requesting an RSVP to the party. If you have not already and you know you will be able to at least come to the LAN party that night please RSVP so that I can get an adequate head count to know how many tables to set up and how many ports we need and what kind of network topology I am going be looking at. The LAN will start about 7 pm but you can show up whenever you want because we all know how long it actually takes to get all the bugs worked out in the network and to get everyone installed and up to date on what we are playing.

I am in the process of acquiring some games that are fun and LAN-able for us to play that night. So far I have on my shortlist:

Starcraft
Unreal Tournament: Game of the Year Edition
Unreal Tournament 2004
Quake 3 Arena
Steam games such as CS and Day of Defeat for offline mode.
Diablo 2
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3 Raven Shield
Star Wars Jedi academy
Warcraft 3

I have come here to crowd source ideas on games we can LAN or play online (if required). Please keep in mind that we should aim for games that will work on the computer with the lowest common denominator. We don't want anyone to be left out because of system requirements.

Thanks a lot and if you have any questions you know how to get in touch with me.
