I need somebody to play with since my friend Myles wont ever get on. It's a fun game, but it's boring by yourself.

I have found a few annoyances in the settings, namely no AA and no Vsync. I can live without AA at higher resolutions but vsync is a must.
Anyhow, if you're interested this is how I enabled vsync. In ...\My Documents\My Games\Borderlands\WillowGame\Config\WillowEngine.ini Change: UseVsync=True
The FOV seems sort of low too but that could just be me. I haven't spent enough time playing yet.
update: meant FOV, not POV

The POV depends on which character you choose. It's low for the Hunter and Siren, but not as much for the Brick or Soldier.

I'm playing a soldier right now, it still felt lower than most other fps I've played. I'm getting used to it though.

Yeah, I was noticing that last night after I read what you said. It's definitely lower... But you get used to it.

Does anybody know if the steam version and the non-steam version can be played together online?

you can probably "activate a copy on steam" and make the non-steam key a steam game. I did it with my copy of UT3.

Just finished my first play-through. Got awesome gear on my soldier@lvl 36. Frivolous spending so I can save for those bit ticket items really payed off.
I love this damned game. Still haven't played multiplayer, but I think my copy will work.

The steam version still uses gamespy tech for the server browser I'm pretty sure, so I don't see any reason they can't be played together.
Ding lvl 50 on my soldier on my second playthrough. This game is amazing, it's like diablo as an FPS....at least as far as loot is concerned. I love my loot.
I'm sort of annoyed at the seemingly arbitrary vendor prices for both selling and buying items. Two items with EXACTLY the same stats sold for over 300k price difference.

Just finished the Zombie Island DLC. Swarms of zombies are great cannon fodder.

Molly and I are playing with Mark now. I'm really enjoying the game, as is Molly.
